Adults and Rosacea
Because there are so many different symptoms – an enlarged red nose, redness, visible blood vessels on the face and red bumps – rosacea often is confused with other skin conditions, such as acne and sunburn. In fact, some refer to it as adult acne, although it is not. It can be itchy, as well as sting and burn. It can even affect the eyes. However, the emotional aspects of rosacea may be the worst part, causing embarrassment and affecting self-esteem.
There are many theories about what causes rosacea, although no one knows for sure. The condition is common and more likely in adults with fair features.
