Birthmarks
Marks that appear on the skin at birth — or soon after — are birthmarks. They are very common and can be small, pale and hardly noticeable. Or they can cover large areas and be red, purple or black. Birthmarks can appear anywhere on the body. Some fade; others are permanent. They usually don't hurt and rarely are associated with health problems.
